Amiibo is best known as a range of figurines featuring favorite Nintendo characters but there are also cards that can be used for gameplay in certain Nintendo Switch games. So, here let's know how to use amiibo cards ACNL?
The amiibo cards were originally created for the 2015 spin-off game Happy Home Designer, to invite villagers to decorate a home for you.
However, thanks to New Leaf's popularity, they’ve taken on a new life and if you have existing cards, you can use them in the game to invite villagers onto your island.
How To Use Amiibo Cards ACNL?
You can do this by heading to Resident Services once the Town Hall has been unlocked, and unlock them via an ATM machine with a green leaf on its side.
However, if you fancy making a bit of money out of ones you may have or you want to add to your existing collection they’re also selling online for a fairly decent amount of money, with plenty of cards available in both landscape and portrait format, for some pretty impressive prices.
Introduced for Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Amiibo cards are a cheaper alternative to the figurines, allowing both Nintendo produce and players to collect many more of them. How many you ask? Nintendo has produced 400 Animal Crossing Amiibo Cards so far in four series. Each featuring different characters as well as outfits for favorites like Isabelle.
To use Amiibo cards in Animal Crossing: New Horizons you have to visit a Nook Stop. These are small green computer terminals (they look like standalone ATMs) inside Residence Services. Use one and select the Amiibo functionality and you’ll be asked to touch the Amiibo figure or card to the Nintendo Switch’s NFC point (on the right Joy-Con).
Return to your campsite afterward and you’ll find that the character you registered has popped by for a visit! Hooray! It’s always good when a friend drops by. We hope you tidied up the camp in time!
